Sooooooo Twitter... tweetville... home of every malcontent and narcissist on the internet had its site blocked in Nigeria. then preceded to condemn the blocking and saying 'access to its platform a 'human right.'
Come on man!!
Twitter declares access to its platform a 'human right' amid censorship of conservatives.
"Twitter declared a free and open Internet to be "an essential human right in modern society" Saturday morning after the Nigerian government banned access to the social media giant following a dispute with its president – even as critics say it suppresses conservative content and bans its own users."
"Twitter’s Public Policy division tweeted in response. "Access to the free and #OpenInternet is an essential human right in modern society. We will work to restore access for all those in Nigeria who rely on Twitter to communicate and connect with the world."
Pot meet kettle... Mirrors are fun... the cliches are endless.
Actor James Woods wrote: 'If irony were a food, Twitter could cure hunger overnight…' Obviously poking fun at a sit that has banned him outright at least 2 times that i know of and Jacks propensity to look like a homeless man.
New York Post journalist Jon Levine also took to condemning Twitter, writing: 'Twitter commits itself to “free and open internet” just months after banning ... THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.'
<holds up mirror for twitter to look at itself with>
But the fun doe snot stop there... Get the diplomats and our resident in the white house involved!!
The United States Diplomatic Mission to Nigeria also addressed the Twitter ban in a statement, condemning Nigeria for the ban.
The mission tweeted... ironically... 'Nigeria’s constitution provides for freedom of expression. The Government’s recent Twitter ban undermines Nigerians’ ability to exercise this fundamental freedom and sends a poor message to its citizens, investors and businesses.'
'Banning social media and curbing every citizen’s ability to seek, receive, and impart information undermines fundamental freedoms.' Ummmm, every citizen, like political adversaries here in the US maybe?
The statement continued: 'As President Biden has stated, our need for individual expression, open public conversation, and accountability has never been greater. The path to a more secure Nigeria lies in more, not less, communication, alongside concerted efforts toward unity, peace, and prosperity.'
And there you have it, straight from the "great uniter" that divides us all... twitter fertilizer.
Hey twitter... when you block or suspend someone you take away their voice, time to act like an adult instead of the child you normally do. Put the post back up, stop interfering in the political processes. Come on man, Mad Maxine is still up on your site and you banned people for being right about the 'china' virus. Wake up.
