The Democratik Citizen’s Republik der Kalifornication is wilting under a heat wave and – as such – the State Commission that oversees the power grid has called on the glorious citizens of the Fool’s Golden State to stop charging their Priuses (Prii?) and Telsas during peak consumption times.
That’s right – the State that last year passed an edict to eliminate all fossil fuel burning cars by 2035 and force what’s left of their population to be transported by over 25M e-vehicles is telling the ones currently in use in the state (250,000 – roughly 650 per 100,000 people) to unplug like a 1990’s MTV special.
For those of you toiling away under Common Core Math (is Common Core Math Racist Math too? – I smell another article…) that means California is unable to meet the charging requirements of ONE PERCENT of the expected 2035 e-vehicle fleet in 2021, and you KNOW the nightmare scenario of trying to build any new power generation stations in a state that bans soft drinks from being part of restaurant kid’s meals.
Not to mention – they have nowhere near enough charging stations and solar charging stations aren’t going to be enough to handle demand, in my opinion.
